ok! Here it is a great Puerto Rican recipe you will love I know i love it. Its made out of bacalao (cod fish) and they are called bacalaitos (cod fritters) deep fried till they turn nice and toasty brown, I know you will enjoy this recipe, just as much as i do and if you have kids they will love it. | Recipe: 1/4 lb. bacalao (cod fish) 3/4 cup flour 1/3 tsp. salt 3/4 cup water 1 garlic clove 1 culantro and 1 cilantro leaves 1 envelope sazón seasoning sprinkle as much pepper you want Vegetable oil (or a oil of your choice) |

| Cut the bacalao (cod fish) in chunks, place in a pot, cover with water and boil on high for 15 minutes. Drain, use the no bone cod fish wash and shred. In a bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper. Pour the water slowly and mix to make a thick like sauce. Add the pepper and sazón and mix well. In a pillon (mortar) crush the garlic and culantro and cilantro leaves Add to the mix. Add the shredded pieces or how ever you cut it to the bacalao mix and mix well In a frying pan, pre-heat lots of oil. (your choice of oil) Fry the bacalaitos on medium to high heat by dropping big spoonfuls in hot oil. Turn as needed. Bacalaitos are done when they are golden brown. Drain in paper towels and let them cool down before eating them, enjoy your cod fritters.. |
